About us

We, the Nikadwari Lane Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, were founded in 1928 with the righteous values and ethics of our inspiration, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

We are a 96-year old registered mandal, functioning under registration number A-3270. We have been celebrating Ganeshotsav with grandeur and euphoria for the past 95 years. We are a responsible and social body that has undertaken a number of social, cultural, and educational activities over the years, without restricting ourselves to religious ceremonies.

I have heard about many such people including Pune based sculptor Shri Abhijit Dhondphale, Kolhapur institutions Nisarg-Mitra and Vigyan Prabodhini, Nisarg Katta in Vidarbh, Gyan Prabodhini of Pune, and Girgaoncha Raja of Mumbai. Many such institutions work hard to promote Ganesh idols made from Shadu Mati and they also propagate it. Eco-friendly Ganeshotsav is also social service.

Our journey as a Ganeshotsav Mandal has been profoundly influenced and guided by the indomitable spirits of three exceptional personalities Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Lokmanya Tilak, and Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.

These three remarkable souls have left a profound impact on our approach towards Ganeshotsav, motivating us to infuse every celebration with a sense of national pride, social cohesion, and a deep-rooted reverence for Lord Ganesha. As we continue this glorious tradition, we wholeheartedly pay homage to the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Lokmanya Tilak, and Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, drawing inspiration from their ideals and teachings to strengthen the bond that unites us all.”
